And the Point is….

Tick tick.

The time keeps passing.

Tick tick tick.

Darkness has arrived.

My left eye begins to twitch, telling me to sleep.

Thoughts of my warm bed creep up into my brain.

It would be so nice to cuddle up in my bed.

To dream away the work load.

To dream

To  s   l     e     e    p.

To imagine.

And then I remember.

And then I cannot forget.

The blogs to read.

The comments to make.

The questions.

The need.

Reading and typing, reading and typing.

I read…

A funny phrase

I find…

A snippet, a snapshot.

I did not know…..

the fall on the skateboard, the almost accident, the friendship

I connect…

How similar we are

What needs we all have

to be heard

to be noticed

to matter

how to tell them

how to make them see

it does matter

I do notice

They are special.

Your post reminds me of me as the hour creeps toward midnight. But, it is a pleasure to read others’ post and to make connections. Here’s to the Slice of Life, especially the March Challenge!

  2. I absolutely love this post. I don’t stay up that late (especially on school nights) but I can relate. On days where I have extra curricular activities and I just got home, I feel like I’m up doing homework forever!

  3. Just like Bianca I don’t go to bed late unless if I have practice and then I have homework. Totally connecting with you right now I have work to get done and I just want to sleep. I think it’s good that you found a way to connect with the audience.

  4. I have these days as well. We all want to read, to be noticed, and to matter, don’t we?

  5. I like how you wrote it like a poem and how you skip the lines.

  6. I loved your poem. You have a deep desire to make your students feel special and noticed. They do all matter and I can see that you try your best to make them feel that voice has been heard. Very inspirational!

  7. This poem reminds of Edgar Allen Poe.it’s so fun to make a poem,I like the part when you say “tick, tock”
